How did you become involved in the Influence ministry?
Influence began from a desire to simply open God’s Word with a small group of men in the livestock industry. My husband, Travis, was one of those original men. As God worked through that group, we watched Him grow it into something far bigger than we ever imagined. Even after Travis went to be with the Lord, I knew God wasn’t finished. Today I serve because I have experienced firsthand that God meets us in our hardest seasons, and I want others to know the same hope we have found in Jesus Christ.
What activities do you lead or participate in? (A study, service, booth, setup, etc.)
I help coordinate and serve in many areas of Influence, including our livestock event booth, junior Bible studies, outreach events, and ministry opportunities at junior nationals across the country. Whether it’s setting up chairs, welcoming families, praying with someone, or teaching God’s Word, I simply want people to know they are seen, loved, and valued by Christ.

Share your testimony of when you accepted Christ into your life. How has having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ changed you?
1 Peter 4:8-10
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.”
This verse has become the heartbeat of our family and our ministry. After everything we’ve walked through, we have learned that life is ultimately about loving God and loving people. God has given each of us gifts—not for ourselves, but to serve others. That is what we strive to live every day through Influence.
I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was young, but my relationship with Him has grown tremendously through life’s greatest joys and deepest heartbreaks. Walking beside my husband through his battle with stomach cancer changed everything. We learned that faith isn’t just something you talk about on Sunday—it becomes what carries you every single day. Through suffering, I witnessed God’s faithfulness, His peace, and His purpose in ways I never imagined. Jesus has taught me that even when life doesn’t make sense, He is still good, still sovereign, and still working. My identity isn’t found in my circumstances; it’s found in Christ.
How would you encourage others who are currently facing a difficult circumstance?
What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and how does it change how you live your life every day?
I would encourage them to keep trusting God, even when life doesn’t make sense. I’ve learned that God is closest during the hardest seasons, even when we can’t always see what He’s doing. After walking through my husband’s cancer journey and losing him, there were days I wondered how my two boys and I would keep moving forward. But God has been faithful every step of the way. He has provided strength when we were weak, peace when our hearts were broken, and people to walk beside us.
I want my boys to see that our hope is never based on our circumstances—it is found in Jesus Christ. We choose every day to love God, love people, and keep doing the hard things because we know God is using every part of our story for His glory. If you’re facing a difficult season, don’t isolate yourself. Stay in God’s Word, pray even when it’s hard, lean on other believers, and trust that God is writing a story far greater than you can see. One day, your greatest trial may become someone else’s greatest encouragement.
To me, being a disciple means following Jesus every day—not just believing in Him, but living like Him. It means loving people well, serving without expecting anything in return, extending grace, sharing the Gospel, and trusting Him in both the good days and the hard days. Every decision becomes an opportunity to point someone toward Christ.
